There’s luxury, and then there’s the Mercedes G-Wagon. The AMG G63 is a beast in a tailored suit—and the wheels are no exception. So when a set of OEM G63 wheels landed in our shop with curb rash and weathered coating, we knew they deserved more than a basic refinish. This job called for precision restoration—OEM aesthetics, better-than-factory durability.
Here’s how we brought them back to life from start to flawless finish.
1. Initial Inspection
We start with a deep dive: checking for curb rash, bends, gouges, previous repair work, cracks, and corrosion. These G63 wheels had typical wear and tear, but the structure was solid—perfect candidates for a full OEM-spec refinish.
2. Strip to Bare Metal
Every wheel is chemically stripped to remove factory coating, brake dust residue, and any leftover contamination. Once stripped, we’re working with pure aluminum—a clean foundation for what’s next.
3. Media Blasting + Prep
Media blasting etches the surface for proper powder adhesion. Once blasted, the wheels go through outgassing to bake off any trapped impurities—especially critical for cast aluminum.
4. First Powder Coat: Primer Black
We lay down a deep primer black powder coat—OEM-accurate, but tougher than the factory version. This first layer sets the base for the final two-tone finish.
6. CNC Machining for Two-Tone Detail
Once cured, we move to the CNC lathe. The outer ½" lip is precision-cut to expose raw aluminum again, recreating the G63’s signature two-tone look. This isn’t hand-done—it’s digitally machined for exact factory lines and symmetry.

7. Final Powder Coat: Satin Clear
To seal it all in and match the OEM satin sheen, we apply a final layer of satin clear powder coat. This protects the exposed aluminum lip and balances out the primer black base with that sleek, muted finish G-Wagon wheels are known for.

8. Final Inspection & Wrap-Up
After curing, every wheel gets a final inspection under light—checking for coating consistency, machining precision, and smooth satin flow. The result? A set of wheels that looks like they just rolled off the Mercedes assembly line—if Mercedes had a powder coating crew this dialed in.
Built to Stun. Coated to Last.
From G-Wagons to grocery-getters, we give every set the elite treatment. This isn’t just cosmetic—it’s protection, precision, and pride in every coat.
